GeoOracleCapitals
GeoOracleCapitals
The daily puzzle, restricted to capital cities: a capital speaks about itself in first person and never says its name. Five clues from poetic to almost giving it away, six guesses, and as many rounds as you want. Every capital of the 195 UN member and observer states can come up, from Reykjavík to Nukuʻalofa.
The answer is the city, not its country. Naming the country counts as a wrong guess, just as it does in the daily puzzle when the answer is a city. Local names, historical names and small typos all count as correct.
The daily puzzle is one place for everyone, once a day, with a streak, a comparison with other players and an archive page afterwards. Practice modes have none of that on purpose: they keep their own small statistics in your browser, they never touch your daily streak, and they do not count towards the comparison.
Practice draws from the same pool of places as the daily puzzle, but leaves out today's puzzle and everything scheduled for the next two weeks. A place you practise today can therefore appear as the daily puzzle at some later date; a place scheduled for the near future cannot appear in practice.
